How far along? 16 weeks and 2 days. We spent all of Saturday coming home, so no blog!
Total weight gain: I don’t want to know. We ate out for five days straight, so I stayed off the scale this week. Everything I ate was delicious though!
Baby is the size of: an avocado! (4-5 inches long)
Gender Guess: Still a girl, but we bought a boy coloured (red and grey) stuffed monkey, so maybe we know it’s not?
Maternity clothes? I didn’t buy any actual maternity clothes in PG, but I did buy a bunch of shirts in a size up that fit so comfy. I’m not big enough to fill out a maternity shirt. I went to Target in PG and felt like the maternity clothes were so NOT me. I was pretty upset actually. Instead buying a size up made sense, they’re stretchy and comfortable, so I’m happy about it.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep: I’m getting enough, but am super restless at night. I wake up a lot and sometimes it’s a while before I drift off again.
Best moment this week: Hanging out with Natasha and Dylan for the week. We love hanging out with those two. Booking a flight home was really awesome, but the price I paid was the best part!
Miss Anything? I miss eating healthy food all the time. I just feel so sick so often. Real exercise. I would have loved to go for a run today in the borderline freezing temperatures.
Food cravings: Hotdogs (I want a hotdog so bad.)
Movement: Not yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Even just thinking about rice heated up in a pan turns my stomach. It’s fine when it’s cooked in a pot, but when it’s reheated in a pan I want to hurl. (It’s been that way since around week 7)Symptoms: I feel like every week I say my morning sickness is getting worse, but it really is! This past week was the worst yet. It seems to last longer and longer every day. I threw up again earlier in the week. And I’ve been taking two tabs of non-drowsy gravol every morning to get me through. Non-drowsy gravol is just concentrated ginger, but still. I had to take tylenol for the first time too since getting pregnant. I had a headache that got worse and worse as the evening progressed until I was sick to my stomach from it. Last time that happened I went to bed and woke up the next morning with the same headache AND vertigo. I’m also back on the saltine crackers again, I can’t get by without a handful before I get up. There is nothing like eating 100 calories before I even get out of bed. Maybe this week will be better.
Looking forward to: A bath in the hotel room Tuesday night! We had the world’s best sales lady at Lush in PG this week. I went in for a bath bomb and came out with $40 in product. And I am NOT a product girl! It just all sounded like such a good idea the way she talked about it. Geeze.
Items Purchased: We bought baby two books while we were in PG, Mortimer and Lost and Found. We love the illustrations in Oliver Jeffers’ books and the story lines are SO cute! This is the second of his books we own, and we plan to get them all. We also bought a little stuffed monkey that was really over priced since it was “hand crafted” in Bangladesh. (I thought everything was) Still, we did pay the price. We also bought a globe for the baby’s room. I don’t have much of a “theme” going on, but if I had to call it something it would be travel. Mostly I just want to surround baby with the things that make me happy.
Hormone-Induced Titty Tantrums: A few. Mostly if I feel like I have to cry there is NOTHING I can do to stop the tears, they just have to come out. I’m sorry to everyone. There was a two hour period today when I thought there was no way I could afford to visit home in November and I lost my marbles. Like, I could see them scattered all over the floor. I was a serious mess.
Workouts: One walk? So bad, I know. I’ve just been feeling so crappy. Must do better.
Number of Weird Dreams: Not so many this week.
