26 Weeks

(Did you know that if you click the “pregnancy” tab on the list left of this article you can see a picture of my belly every week and watch it grow?)

How far along? 26 weeks!! One more until the 3rd trimester starts…maybe.  This fact totally depends where you look, but I’m going to go with it.

Total weight gain: I bought a new scale this week, a non-digital one.  It put me one pound under last week.  So I compared it to my digital scale and of course it worked fine this week.  And Shane was there to watch it, so he gave me this look like “it works fine you dummy, but of course you had to buy a new one.”  Stupid technology does that to me every time he’s around.  18 lbs total.

Baby is the size of: A butternut squash, or a bunch of green onions.  14 inches anywho.  And she weighs 1 2/3lb!!  She’s getting so big.

Gender: Girl.

Stretch marks? No, but I have the driest skin on my chest you’ve ever seen.  And I’ve been moisturizing two-three times a day.  I’m at a loss for what to do.

Sleep: Really good that last two nights, reasonable the nights before it.

Best moment this week: Christmas morning and Christmas Eve specifically.  They were great, relaxing and joyous moments.  Next year will be so much different with a (big) baby.

Miss Anything? The festive glasses of wine, or booze-y warm drinks.  I never indulged a lot in years past, but I would have enjoyed the occasional social drink.

Food cravings: McDonalds.

Movement: She’s crazy busy in there.  We’ve loved watching her from the outside, bumping all over the place.  I’m a little in awe of how strong her kicks are getting.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I’ve been feeling alright this week.  I did have a vomiting episode late Christmas night but it must have been something I ate, because it went away no problem.

Symptoms: I’m still getting tired and have horrible pelvic girdle pain which leaves me limping around.  I’m actually shocked how bad it can hurt, and how little I have to do to bring it out.  Even just turning on the couch, or taking a step can make me cry out in pain.  I’ve taken to sitting down whenever possible, because taking the pressure off my pelvis is the only way to deal with it.

Looking forward to: Hmmmm, what am I looking forward to?  A new year I suppose, but Shane is working the next six days and four of them are nights, so I’m going to be quite alone for this next week.  Not looking forward to that at all.

Items Purchased: The rug we purchased last week got here on Christmas Eve.  It looks quite nice, though it’s less white then I thought it would be.  We haven’t purchased anything new this week, but Santa did bring me cute maternity pyjamas!!

Workouts: I went for two more half hour walks this week, but we’ve been very busy with Christmas too.

Number of Weird Dreams: Just a few, but I don’t really remember them.  I have been sleeping much better, so that means less dreams.IMG_0263

Thanks Kim! It’s really decided to be out and about now. I feel like I’m carrying a sack of potatoes around where ever I go 🙂

So I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a bunch of green onions the same size as a squash!!

Hahaha, I know, those veggies and fruits they used are always ridiculous! I think in length they can be? That’s what I feel they base it on. It’s why I’ve started including the actual inches because who knows how long a rutabaga is??
