How far along? Wooohooo! We made it to the third trimester! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, this day felt like the most unattainable goal when I was first pregnant. I can’t believe we’ve made it! Next unattainable goal? Going south at 36 weeks.
Total weight gain: I just about had a cow when I saw the numbers today. I gained 4lbs (whhaaaaaaaaat??) in one week. I’m having a hard time with that number. Not so much for me right now, but I’m really worried about losing it later. I know, I know, it doesn’t matter. This means I’ve officially crossed the 20lb mark. I weigh 22lbs more then when I started. (Waaaaaaaaaaaa) I stopped eating sweets the last two days and somehow the copious amounts of veggies I’ve been eating instead have given me my biggest weight gain in a week to date. Blasphemy. Please tell me that those four pounds are all in my belly, you can see that, right?
Baby is the size of: Enough with the comparisons that don’t make any sense! (Bananas and cauliflower this week) She’s 14.5 inches long and weighs 2lbs.
Gender: A little baby girl.
Stretch marks? Nope, but I’m giving you all a close up this week of what this pregnancy did to my skin. My leopard spots are looking mighty fine all over my chest and my boobs skin is so dry it’s flaking off despite the layers and layers of lotion. But no stretch mark, so count your blessings.
Sleep: Pretty alright. I did have another morning where I was up at 3:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep until 6. My energy levels have been pretty good this week, so I’m very thankful for that.
Best moment this week: This morning I was lying on the couch playing with her (in my mind at least, she was probably like “damn lady, stop poking me!”), and I played the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow (one of my faves) on my phone while balancing it on my belly and she went wild. I’m talking full on dance party. It was awesome. And when I told Shane he was like “maybe she was actually trying to get away from it, and was freaking out instead.” HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Miss Anything? I would have loved a drink at New Years with my friends.
Food cravings: Nothing particularly. Obviously anything with sugar now that I’m cutting back.
Movement: Her kicks and jabs get stronger every week. I still love feeling them. It’s such a crazy thing to share my body with her. I think I’ve been feeling her hiccup sometimes. They say it’s rhythmic and only last a few moments. I usually feel this lower on my right side and most of her kicks on my left side. (This can change though) My favourite is when she moves her body pushed my skin taught and out. It usually lasts a few seconds and you can see my skin ripple and then she disappears again. One day I would like to see a hand, or a foot.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I was just saying to Shane yesterday how I haven’t been feeling nauseous the past two or three weeks (other then my Christmas evening episode), and today I’m feeling horrid.
Symptoms: I have the itchiest skin I’ve ever known. (And I’ve had scabies…twice.) Pelvic girdle pain, but it’s much better if I’m not on my feet very much during a day. I have some crazy mood swings, but almost exclusively sad-happy. I wake up in the worst gloom and just wait until suddenly everything is rosy again, which usually takes a few hours. During that time I just cry and cry for no reason. Honestly, no reason. I feel crazy.
Looking forward to: Going south. Yesterday Shane and I were talking about which day I would leave for Vancouver. I thought I would leave on the 17-19th of March, which for whatever reason I believed was 36.5 weeks (it’s totally not). Both the airline and my doctor would like me to fly before 37 weeks and Shane decided he wanted me to go 36 weeks, just in case. When I pulled out the calendar I realized I would be flying March 7th! A full 10 days earlier then I had been planning. That’s only 64 days from now, 9 weeks if you can believe it!! Last night I made a list of all the things I want to do when I’m down before baby comes. It’s a long list!
Items Purchased: I signed up for the Chilliwack’s children bidding wars and won a few bids. For $18 we got her at least 3 dozen pieces of 0-6m clothing. Yes!! (My mom went and picked them up.) We also received our order from last week and now have a mattress, mattress cover and two sheet sets! Plus two baby toys (her first). Our friends sent us a Christmas gift that included a fuzzy blanket to wrap her up in (with adorable bear ears). Holy man, thats a lot of stuff!
Workouts: I went on four walks this week! I’ve really been making an effort to get out there more.
Number of Weird Dreams: I’ve been sleeping more soundly this week, so I can’t say I’ve had any weird ones.
