How far along? 31 weeks. I realize once she gets here I won’t be able to imagine life before her. And I’ll probably miss some of this relaxed quiet. But I’ve never wanted to meet someone more in my entire life and I would gladly give up these next quiet 8-11 weeks if only I could have her now.
Total weight gain: I’m up 2lbs from last week, 28lbs total.
Baby Size: Hazel is 18 inches and about 3.2lbs
Gender: She’s a little girl.
Stretch marks? No.
Number of Weird Dreams: All night every night. Last night I (in my dream) got pulled over by a cop and she said I was driving to close, didn’t stop at a stop sign, and was speeding. I couldn’t even defend myself because I came into the dream as I was getting pulled over!
Sleep: One bad night = one decent night.
Best moment this week: Booking my flight down south! I’m leaving even earlier then I had planned because there were no seats available for the 6th or 7th. So I’ll be flying in on March 5th, which is only 33 days away!!! I ended up paying $262.50 for the one way flight because it’s the “high season” with airmiles. The other best moment was buying a Mamaroo on the Chilliwack bidding wars website. It is the most expensive “we don’t really need this” purchase for baby that I had on the list. It retails new $260 CAD plus the $40 newborn insert PLUS tax, and we got it (with insert) for $130. It’s the small luxuries.
Miss Anything? I really wanted a gin and tonic this week (it’s my favourite drink).
Food cravings: Anything salty and dark chocolate (not necessarily together). I think I’m in a super sugar pattern. I’m good all day without, but after dinner I need something that has a big sweet hit, like a piece of chocolate or a truffle. But fruit won’t cut it. I’m also craving a burger like mad right now, but I think I’ll order one tonight when we’re at the fundraising dinner.
Movement: Last Sunday was by far the most uncomfortable day of my pregnancy. I don’t know what she was doing, but it hurt! All day I couldn’t get comfortable and she obviously couldn’t either. By Monday all was better and when I asked the doctor where her head was on Tuesday she said she felt it in my pelvis. So maybe Sunday was just her getting into position. Now I feel her kicks on my belly and her hands really low in my abdomen.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Symptoms: I had such a good week symptom wise this week (well, and in general). I feel so lucky that I don’t have pain in my back, my hips, my feet or my belly. Her kicks aren’t strong enough to hurt and I generally feel really good. I’m tired a lot, granted and I do a lot of sitting/lounging. I have a lot of gas bubbling inside me, but it’s not bad. Even though my sleep isn’t what it used to be, it could be a lot worse. Again, I’m so thankful, so many women suffer through these weeks. I actually think that it’s because I’m able to stay home and relax that it’s so easy. If I had to work I imagine my list of symptoms would be much different.
Looking forward to: Going south in a few weeks (but I’m going to miss Shane so much) and seeing Hazel in her little newborn clothes.
Items Purchased: Oh. my. gosh. We got a lot this week. I bought a used change pad with two covers, an excersauser (the one I wanted) and the mamaroo all off the bidding wars site. We are rocking this baby thing! We also received most of the clothes we ordered last week and they are so cute I think I might die. Things I still need: ergo newborn insert, a breast feeding pillow, a monitor and a rocking chair. Plus all the little things we don’t really need, like picture frames, book shelves, a lamp, a side table, a laundry hamper, a garbage can, books, a diaper bag and a playmat. Also, she has like no toys. But I figure she doesn’t really need any for a while. You can see my list here. This is my baby clothes list.
Workouts: I went for a bunch of walks this week. They’re much slower than they used to be.
