Hazel’s first Halloween!

I’ve never been a halloween person.  The best enthusiasm I’ve mustered was my preteen years where I made it my mission to get as much candy as possible.  Even then my costumes were a little “put together” shall we say?  Having a little person to make memories for has changed my tune completely.  I’ve never so much as hung a decoration and this year I went all out with cobwebs and bats and skulls.  It was awesome!  Here are a few pictures of our day.  IMG_6216I made this wreathe!IMG_6245This is the two of us at yesterday’s costume party.  She’s an elephant obviously, but I’m supposed to be a woman on safari, which is a little less apparent.IMG_6257I made these spider cookies for the costume party.  Most of them were cuter than this.  (This was a reject that didn’t make the cut)IMG_7156We woke up to Hazel’s first snow!  Over the course of the day we had a total of somewhere around 3 inches.IMG_6289I tried in the themed-food-department.  Mummy toasts and ghost bananas anyone?IMG_7165She’s obsessed with this ball.  She smacks it on the floor constantly and crawls after it when it rolls across the room.IMG_7245This is her “I’m coming for you mama” face.  She’s mostly likely also saying mumumumumum, which is her favourite thing to chant. heartmelt.IMG_7261I also made that sign on the far right.  It had a raven on the very top and a candle in the lantern.  The sign reads “something wicked this way comes”IMG_7259I took this picture after she puked all over that cute halloween onsie.  You can see her red rosy cheeks.  She was right out of sorts today and I’m certain it’s teeth.  #keepinitrealIMG_7269For dinner I tried my hand at halloween pizzas.  We’ve got a spider pizza, a few (three-eyed) monster pizzas, a snake pizza and a pumpkin pizza.IMG_6290IMG_7281Finally it was time to trick-or-treat!  We just went to a few houses of people we knew since it was so cold.IMG_6224IMG_7258Shane had to work tonight, so I was on candy-duty.  I ended up handing out one and a half buckets like this.  About 400 pieces.  To be fair, I was giving out about 3 pieces per kid.

And that was it!  Hazel went to bed right at 6 because she was so tired.  She’d only slept for 20 minutes all afternoon.  I really hope she’s feeling better soon!
