Girls Weekend at Sparkling Hills

By the time we were ready to leave for Chilliwack, I was in desperate need of a night away.  A night without husband or children or any responsibilities.  My wonderful partner said “do what ever you need”, and he meant it.  So I booked a room at Sparkling Hill resort just outside Vernon and asked my mom to join me.  We had an amazing time.We booked a wine tour locally, and timed it just right so as we pulled up to the resort the tour van was ready to whisk us away.  We sampled wine at Intrigue, Grey Monk, Ex Nihlio, Arrowleaf and The Chase.  It was a wonderful afternoon, we tasted so much good wine!  I’m not sure we would do the tour again.  It’s likely we would go back with more girls and do the wineries much more slowly.  If we ate some food, explored the grounds and tasted a small bit of wine we would have been fit to drive.  Upon return from the tour we checked into the hotel, and didn’t leave again until check-out.  We had coffee, we put our feet up, we went on a walk, we dined with amazing views and delicious food.  It was all so beautiful.  The highlight of course, was the complimentary saunas, steam rooms and pools.  It was bliss!  We spent hours drinking tea, and soaking up the steam.  Gosh, I loved it so much.On our way back home we stopped for lunch at Quail’s Gate Winery for a delicious white wine flight and the best food.  So much rest, good food and relaxation.
