12 Weeks – #2

How far along? 12 weeks, and just about 1/3 of the way through.  My math tells me a third of the way is 13.3 weeks (40/3).  Could the days drag on any slower? Ha.

Total weight gain: 5 pounds since day one.  I think it’s 5 pounds of cereal and ryvita crackers.

Baby is the size of: a plum.  Baby is a whole 2 inches long, which is impossibly small but still…how!

Maternity clothes? I’m all over these.  I’ve bought a few new things to add to my small collection, but fortunately I still fit into lots of non-maternity pieces.  Basically, though I just hate clothes and want to be in my PJs all the time.  I’ve actually opted to stay in on occasion to avoid pants.

Sleep: we moved into a king sized bed (hurray!) which has done wonders for us.  Also, Hazel spending 5 out of 7 nights in her own bed, plus my snoogle which I love to death.  It’s all been good.  I’m always up 1-3 times a night for food/bathroom/screaming child.

Best moment of the week: Feeling a little flutter from baby earlier this week.  Such a special moment, and yes I do know it was the baby, not gas.  Shane and I also got to watch our baby during our first ultrasound!  We saw Hazel at 10 weeks, and this baby at 11w6d and wow what a difference two weeks makes.  Instead of full body jerky movements, we saw kicking feet and fluid arm waving (and maybe even some thumb sucking!)

Miss anything: Not right now.

Food cravings: anything salty!  I’ve been wanting cactus cut nachos for a week now, so I’m hoping Shane will make me some tonight!  I’m also really into fall comfort foods like casseroles and stews, but I have a feeling that is seasonal not pregnancy.

Anything make you sick or queasy? I’ve had one cup of coffee all week.  I just can’t.  Even tea is hard sometimes.

Symptoms: For a few days I thought my nausea was subsiding, but nope! It’s back full force.  I’ve also had a lot more breakouts on my skin which is hormones/more sugar.  I’m out of breath climbing one flight of stairs!  I’m also much hotter than usual. Weird dreams.

Looking forward to: Annoucing this pregnancy to the internet.  We were planning on waiting until we saw my grandparents in person while we were visiting in October, but 5 more weeks is just too long to wait!  Sorry!  But also, yay!  We’re trying a few different photographs for the announcement photo and will post the ones that work out, so there may be just one, or there may be a few.  Fun!
