How far along? I’m 24 weeks along and wow is time ever dragging. What other events do you count down in weeks almost a year out?? Geeze, if I had a trip booked for 40 weeks out I wouldn’t even think of it until the last 3 months.
Baby is the size of: A half baguette.
Gender? It’s a boy this time and his name is Hugo.
Sleep: Oh I’ve been so tired. I’ve been going to bed early to make sure I get my full 8 hours, but I wake up at least twice to pee and take my medication. Hazel is still working on not needing us during the night, so getting woken up in the middle of a sleep cycle wears me out! (Just as it has for the past 2 years and 8 months.)
Best moment: I had my 20 weeks ultrasound on Wednesday, which wasn’t that special in itself, but the baby has never moved around more than in that hour. He did not like having the wand chasing him around. He moved and kicked and threw so many elbows! The technician definitely had a hard time getting the images she needed.
Miss anything: It’s so lame to say, but I miss my more athletic and lean body shape. I am definitely appreciating how capable and soft my body is right now, much more than last time. But I feel weird in my skin when I catch my reflection…it doesn’t look like me. I really struggled with this last time, and while it’s not as bad yet, and I am well aware it’s a temporary body shape, I’m still a little embarrassed at my fullness which is just nuts! I’m working hard on changing this mentality.
Food cravings: I’m not really craving anything, but I am definitely not feeling remotely interested in fruits and veggies.
Items purchased: I have a few friends who have baby boys right now, and I was lucky enough to pick through a bunch of hand-me-downs. I also went through all of the clothes I’ve been storing and picked out all the gender neutral items, which amounted to much more then I thought. This baby has got two boxes of clothes already!
Anything making you sick or queasy: I’ve been feeling sick at random times throughout every day. Usually lying down for a few minutes calms my body down and I’m fine to go again.
Symptoms: I’m mostly just tired, hungry and randomly sick feeling. Some heartburn in the afternoon/evenings just for fun. My face spots have cleared up for now, which I am very grateful for! I’m feeling pretty darn great this time around!
Looking forward to: Christmas is almost here, as is my birthday which are both fun. But to be honest, I’m having a hard time seeing how I’m ever going to make it to 30 weeks, it feels so long from now! So that is what I’m most looking forward to.
