I wasn’t going to do one of these silly things, but I changed my mind last minute. I do want to see the highlights in one post! 2017 felt really hard, so many things changed and we are definitely leaving on the upswing. When I look at it as a whole we actually did a lot of traveling! We had our adventures, that’s for sure! The biggest thing for both Shane and I (I believe) was addressing our individual mental health. What a massive change in both of us. Things are feeling so much easier now. Sometimes you just get close to the edge, I guess before things get better.January. I posted a San Fransisco trip recap from 7 years ago that still makes me laugh. We stuck close to home and hibernated pretty good. I posted a day in our life and I can’t get over how little Hazel is! It feels like so much longer than a year has passed. January also marked the place in time we got really serious with our finances, which is a big deal in my life!February. We had our inaugural Valentines breakfast, which I can’t wait to do again. Halfway through the month, we left for a month-long visit to Chilliwack. Shane and I were able to get away for our first ever kid-free night and had the best meal of the year as a birthday celebration!March. I got a tattoo! We started our main bathroom reno. I also fell pregnant and miscarried this month. Everything about this month was hard and I wasn’t able to write here for a long time.April. We had a Mickey Mouse party for Hazel’s second birthday! Hazel also really enjoyed Easter, everything from the Easter bunny to the chocolates!May. Hazel and I went home for a quick 10 day visit. When we got back we did a one night (very cold) camping trip at Summit Lake. Winter finally left!June. We left early in the month for another four weeks in Chilliwack. We were lucky enough to visit the Sunshine Coast to celebrate Father’s Day. I also got to spend one night drinking wine and enjoying the views of the Okanagan with my mom! This was definitely the best month of the year.July. We bought a canoe this month! I spent lots of time gardening and enjoying the summer. We met some friends at Mucho Lake for a few nights of camping. And I found out I was pregnant for the third time, but found it so scary and hard to enjoy.August. We road tripped to Winnipeg and back over 2.5 weeks and it was stellar! We really enjoyed our summer this year!September. Hazel started playschool, which was amazing for her and hard for me. Our major news was announcing our pregnancy after so many weeks of being on pins and needles. It made things more real for sure. My closest friend in Fort Nelson moved away and it was/is still hard.October. We hosted our best yet Friendsgiving Party just before we left for another month in Chilliwack. I had a quick solo trip to Quebec City! We loved having autumn 2.0, since the leaves had all fallen in September. We found out our baby was going to be a boy.November. My depression was at an all-time low coming home this time. Luckily I was put on medication because yowza that sucked.December. I celebrated my 26th birthday. Christmas was great, low key and peaceful.
